I doubt we will see any juicy stuff, even if we have aliens from space playing checkers in secret bases and complaining about Army coffee. If we do have solid evidence of aliens, it has been kept from presidents and other politicians to avoid the leaks that would inevitably occur.

I’ll put my money on a large “nothing burger.” If one considers the dozen or so unique occurrences that were required so that the earth was formed (eg. a planet formed in the “inhabitable zone”, two gas giants at the right distance, a comet passing through at the right time to leave ice, an planetary axis at the right angle, etc.) the possibility of there being life on another planet anywhere close enough to be reached can be measured as “n->0.”
