Funny, He Didn’t Look Jewish

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

U.S. — Media personality Candace Owens was shocked and appalled today after discovering that Christmas originated because of the birth of a Jew.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” exclaimed a stunned Owens. “This whole thing — the lights, the carols, people worshipping — all this started because of a Jew being born? Ugh. Our entire national calendar revolves around this holiday, and no one talks about that it’s all because of a Jew. And we’re still pretending like they don’t control everything?”

The horrified Owens began tearing down all of her Christmas decorations and throwing them out to the curb, disgusted that she had been tricked by a Jewish plot. Lighting her nativity scene on fire, Owens resolved to expose the villainous Christmas plot to her listeners.

“Real Christians do not celebrate Christmas,” said Owens the next morning as she began taping. “The fact is, if you’re celebrating Christmas, you’ve been duped. You’re just a pawn, cheering the birth of a Jew, just like they want you to. And when I say ‘they’, I think you know who I mean: the Jews.”

Go here to read the rest.  I guess Owens can take solace on something said on the old All in the Family show over half a century ago when it was noted that Jesus was a Jew and Archie Bunker responded, “Only on his mother’s side.”

For Catholics the Catechism says it well:

423 We believe and confess that Jesus of Nazareth, born a Jew of a daughter of Israel at Bethlehem at the time of King Herod the Great and the emperor Caesar Augustus, a carpenter by trade, who died crucified in Jerusalem under the procurator Pontius Pilate during the reign of the emperor Tiberius, is the eternal Son of God made man. He ‘came from God’,4 ‘descended from heaven’,5 and ‘came in the flesh’.6 For ‘the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father… And from his fullness have we all received, grace upon grace.’7

Please explain what the heck happened to Candace Owen’s and Tucker Carlson that made them so wacko?

My penny opinion, LQC, is that their ego’s have overshadowed their common sense. Now they are just a couple more influencers in a field of influencers….all chasing the golden like button.

Or as my Dad (RIP) used to say, “Those are the Boss’s relatives.”

LQC

Maybe the same thing that affects college football coaches in the state of Michigan? It’s either something in the water or it’s temporary insanity.

They’ve both always hopped on bandwagons. When they were saying true things, it wasn’t because they were true, it’s because they were marketable. That said, the problem isn’t just the two of them, it’s that right now there’s a market for it.

I may be wrong, but I think what drives Tucker is that he’s a spoiled rich kid who thinks he can do whatever he wants regardless of who gets hurt by it. Candace is someone who has been grifting ever since she was a teenager and had gotten quite good at it.

I agree with Pinky and Greg. Their rants are financial decisions. Divisiveness and outrageousness => clicks => $$. The damage their nonsense initiates doesn’t even enter into the equation.

To explain Carlson and Owens, I think it’s as simple as “follow the money.”

He’s 56 years old, has been married to his one and only wife for 34 years, and has four children. He makes crank podcasts. Just who did he hurt in the course of his life? Are you locating his kids on the police blotter?

Mark Shea’s father was career Army, never commissioned. His wife is a CNA, now retired. He lives in a 1,064 square house built 75 years ago. Is he spoiled?

I bet there’s a few million Ukrainians who think his glamourizing of Putin hurt their cause more than a little … But I’d be speculating.

I’ve been pondering this the last few days because it’s so bothersome. And I remembered something I’d heard said by a priest:
“fame puts a person in great danger… rather than concentrating on a soul here or there, the devil will concentrate efforts on famous persons.. call it demonic efficiency… by causing the famed to fall… many souls may be led to perdition…”

Pray for Candace, Tucker and all famous people.
