International Law

The Law is filled with legal fictions, and international law is an area so fictitious as to be surreal.  All law rests on a sovereign who can enforce it.  Without such a sovereign what are called laws are actually matters of opinion.  To the extent that international law has any meaning, it resides upon strong powers who agree to be bound by some aspect of international law.  To the extent that such agreement ceases to exist, the international law ceases to be law until it is enforced by a sovereign stronger than the power that has ceased to agree.  The tower of babel called the UN is not a sovereign.

The UN ”demands”? That’s rich. And what will the UN do when our president rightly tells the UN to go pound sand?

Few people realize just how very, very wealthy these drug cartels have become. They can afford to field increasingly well-trained forces, purchase disturbingly sophisticated arms from all sorts of shady dealers— and buy the best and most widely-broadcast furrowed brows and tutt-tutting punditry on various legacy media.

Of course those cartels can also afford to buy any number of UN hacks to protest on their behalf. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that cartel cash had helped buy certain US politicians’ support for porous borders in defiance of all common sense and public order. If I ran a cartel, I’d certainly be using my stacks of cash that way, to protect my business model.

President Trump is doing the U N’s job in protecting nations and people from harm. The U N is a very important body taking our money and doing nothing.
Clinton:
It’s go pound salt.
Good comment.

The demand was issued by one Volker Turk, a UN official who lives in Geneva. He grew up in Austria and has been collecting a salary from the UN since 1991.

Maybe the UN would be wiser to advise all mariners to avoid looking like drug smugglers…

As Dave Chappelle said:

“You don’t have an army? I guess that means you need to shut the f*** up. That’s what I’d do if I didn’t have an army.”

I have a suggestion. Let our nuclear submarines covertly torpedo each drug boat leaving Venezuela. No fanfare, no photos, no publicity. Just this: if you’re a drug dealer shipping poison by sea, then you’ll become fish food without warning. PS, good target practice for our Fire Control technicians and Torpedoman Mates.

Absolutely convinced here that a number of domestic and UN politicians “so firmly opposed to interdicting drug traffickers” are being well financed through well-concealed intermediaries .
