Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Indeed, we might say that Vatican Council II taught things that no prior Council had taught before and these things need to be addressed.
And until that happens, we will be stuck with the stink of liberal progressive modernism infecting the Church, the Body of Christ. Nothing will change. Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate is a continuation of Pope Francis’ abominable leadership.
Unfortunate that Fr. Murray is not a Cardinal. But the Larger unfortunate is who are, why and by whom.
Post-modernism is fun! /sarcasm
We are now two generations into a mentality of people deciding what they want to be/happen. Pope Francis was the logical consequence and I honestly (as a younger-ish guy) have no clue when the collapse (of post-modern BS) will take place and the proper restoration will occur. It certainly will *not* be during the upcoming consistory.
From Fr. Haynes mouth to God’s ears.
By that would put “on the spot” all the cardinals and bishops who bowed and prayed to Pope Frank.
It would only take one.
Willing to go in and, to borrow Francis’s own phrase, “make a mess.”
Willing to seize an available moment to stand up and declare “That is not true.”
In short, willing to enter a cardinal and exit defrocked.
The Russians have a saying, which is usually intended as a cautionary, but I offer as encouragement:
The spoken word will fly; you cannot catch it.
Can’t wait to hear the consistory condemn transgender surgery, not just for minors but for all humans as immoral; and to make a strong pro-life statement. Also to condemn the murders of Christians in Africa and the oppression of Catholics in China.
Waiting.. waiting..
An encouraging sign. Bringing ALL the Cardinals together, not just the Frankie 8.
“Liturgy on the agenda.”🙏🙏🙏 Praying for the release of the restrictions on the TLM.
Thank you for the clip.
I hope that the College of Cardinals speaks clearly. “You can’t bless sin.” Fr. Murray.
Well, the Pope accepted the resignation of Diamond Tim Dolan (and my Bishop) but Cupich is still running things in ChiTown (and maybe parts of Rome), so I’m not anticipating those innovative, novel teachings of the Francis Magisterium to be corrected any time soon.
I think that Fr Murray’s legitimate request not being honored is a safe 2026 prediction.
I think we have to accept that the Church is a mess, organization-wise, and just soldier on to the best of our ability.
Francis was corrosive in so many ways, one of the worst popes in history if not the worst. The people he surrounded himself with…too many are still around.
Let’s just offer it up.
I have documented too often the problems I have had with my oldest son. My mother has cancer that is likely terminal. My youngest brother is facing criminal charges in Florida, one of which could be a felony. My other two brothers have acted like imbeciles regarding my mom’s illness and have tried to drag me into arguments. Just tonight, my wife decided to clean the car windows…I told her not to as I cleaned the car today…as I was leaving to stay with my mom for the next day…and she severely cut her finger. At this time it may be broken, we don’t know.
Try to forget Vatican politics, Cupich, the stupid bishops in Charlotte and Detroit (easy if you are not there).
Hey, I have had a hard time trying to pray Advent prayers each night. At least this year I set up my wreath with new candles.
Cast aside in olden times was declare them anathema?
@ Penguins Fan: well-said (“… the Church is a mess, organization-wise, and just soldier on to the best of our ability.”)
“Shades of S. Benedict.”
St. John Paul II said: “One crime and that priest is out” The US bishops returned from the Vatican to Dallas and said two or three or more crimes is Ok. It takes $249,000 to educate a priest. So, no to the Pope.
No to the Pope. And now they want the pew sitters to obey. Ha.
“Unfortunate that Fr. Murray is not a Cardinal”
If only Fr. Murray were nominated to replace Cdl. Dolan as Abp. of NY.
