Thought for the Day
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

His greatest work.
[ Presuming that is his baby in the stroller. ]
Don’t get me wrong. His prophetic books are masterpieces by some, blueprints for others, yet beyond his keen insights his greatest work sits in the stroller that he carefully moves forward.
Being a loving parent is a collaboration of brilliant work between God and man. The children truly are masterpieces bc good words, like good children, take God’s inspiration and patience and bestows it upon parents.
God bless and help all parents.
That would be Richard Orwell, his adopted son. He is still alive at age 81 and is his father’s literary Trustee and a defender of him from the fake quotes alleged to by by Orwell, and which have proliferated with the advent of the internet.
A good boy …even at 81. 🙂
Thank you Donald.
I like that he continues to fight and defend the honor of the man that adopted him. I’m certain that George appreciates the efforts of his Richard.
Tolkien has Gandalf say: “Every wizard should have a hobbit or two in his care, to teach him wisdom”. We speak of adults protecting children, but the old teacher wonders whether perhaps sometimes children protect us, by reminding of the really important stuff in life.
