Something for the weekend. Peace in the Valley sung by Elvis Presley on January 6, 1957 on the Ed Sullivan Show. Like many Americans, Elvis was touched by the courage of the Hungarian people in their revolt against Soviet tyranny. He dedicated his song to the Hungarian people, and raised 25 million Swiss francs for the relief of Hungarian refugees. The people of Hungary never forgot, and in 2011 he was posthumously made a citizen of Budapest.
They never forgot.
