Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
As much as I generally dislike the campy kids songs with actions about religious topics, I did learn a “Fruit of the Spirit” song way back that has helped me—to this day—to remember the fruit of the spirit. Of course, I sometimes have to clap to jog my memory… “love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self control-ol-ol!”
It is also pretty funny to try and retrofit the song to something like the Douay-Rheims, as words like “benignity” and “longanimity” don’t roll off the tongue as well…
