At the risk of being pessimistic, too late.
I still think it is Archbishop Sheen’s political insights that is stopping the Beatification process. He understands the satanic roots of so much of the politics that is going on in the world. Of course, the powers that be, both in and outside religion, don’t want to hear his cure: repent and believe in the Gospel, as shown by the Holy Catholic Church. Much easier to spend people’s money on a never ending search for Shangri-La than to confess one’s sin and follow Jesus. Archbishop Sheen’s time has come, hopefully Pope Leo understands this and will raise Sheen to the dignity he deserves.
LKL: I am by training somewhat cynical, thus I can’t fully disagree with you. However, I still think there is time to save the Republic-it’s what will precede saving it that worries me, when a significant proportion of the secular enemy are comfortable with violence to get their way, or just to ruin things for everyone.
