I am becoming increasing disappointed. Pope Leo recently posted the following in defense of Laudato Si and environmentalism:
—–
Decem annis post #Laudatosi’. Litterae encyclicae Papae Francisci nos vocat ad renovandum dialogum de modo quo futura terrarum orbis informamus, coniuncti investigantes vias profectus, qui sustineri possit, et cordi habentes curam domus communis, quam Deum nobis commisit.
—–
I responded accordingly:

2 Petri 3:7 & 10-12
Environmentalismus est paganitas!

It’s not enough speak and write in Latin in order to be authentically Catholic. Furthermore, Catholics (or anyone for that matter) – whether clergy or laity – who are bone ignorant on energy production and resultant environmental impact and mortality rate per terawatt hour don’t rate having an opinion on these topics. However, that Pope Leo thinks (in Donald’s post above) the now late Pope Francis had patience, humility, and humor tells us that we are likely getting merely a smarter version of the last 12 years. Same dumb idiot ideology, but delivered in a nicer, kinder, softer, and smarter way. No thank you. Not for me. I won’t be deceived a second time.
The open homosexual (safe bet) who posted for Francis (very safe bet) is still there?!
Pray for the pope.
If the constant er… backwardism of referring to the previous marvelosity of Francis continues, I agree that we are in for another kidney stone of a pontificate, but under slicker packaging.
My hope is that this is only part of a transitional mourning phase where we have to wait to speak ill of the dead. However, the comment is so far from the truth that it is disturbing. It does not encourage such hope.
Francis: Knock knock
Bishop: Who’s there?
Francis: Self-absorbed, Promethean neo-Pelagian, coprophageous, careerist, bat-like, anesthetised peacock Christians.
Bishop: Self-absorbed, Promethean neo-Pelagian, coprophageous, careerist, bat-like, anesthetised peacock Christians who?
Francis: You’re fired! Clean out your desk! Oh, and I’m doubling your rent!
Hey Leo Be in charge or quit now. No more praise of Evil Clown. Erase his memory as a bad dream and fix the ship. The last captain was trying to scuttle it.
“Walk softly and carry a big stick.”
My “feeling” is Pope Leo will lift restrictions on the TLM. The L mafia is in this chess match. Best to lay in the weeds and think four steps ahead.
Until the unfolding of future events, I will continue to block the refrain from “Baba O’Reilly” trying to play in my head.
Please give the man a chance. He hasn’t had the job for long. He did not like Pope Francis when he met him.
I am not going to get up on arms over his words. Not yet, anyway.
