Better be a Cards Fan Holiness

I have never taken much interest in baseball as a sport, although I take an interest in its history and lore, and I have been a fan of a lot of the great movies made about America’s pastime, but both my Paternal Grandfather and Father were baseball enthusiasts, and they were fans of the Cardinals.  My Grandpa named my Dad Donald Dean McClarey, the Dean for “Dizzy” Dean, the great Cardinals’ pitcher.

Apparently his brother chimed in and said that he’s a white Sox fan.

But I’m with you Don. Watching baseball is like watching paint dry. I think it’s just everybody gets together and talks and drinks beer while waiting for something to happen.

This is neither the time nor the place for me to engage in a friendly dispute with my fellow TAC commenters about the virtues of the game of baseball, which I hold to be of Divine dispensation. But as a third-generation St. Louis Cardinals fan, I do hope Pope Leo is a Sox loyalist. It would be a hard thing for me to have a Cubs fan in the Holy See. 😁 But I’d probably get over it.
