Well said Father. It doesn’t cost anything to be faithful.
I agree a hundred percent. The Ship is listing and yet the crew driving it is much more concerned about what we’re doing in our third class cabins. Thankfully, my faith isn’t dependent upon what the bureaucracy in Rome says or does.
A Catholic DOGE is needed at the Vatican.
For the sake of…generousity(?), we ought note the pension liability may be a problem. Our priests and prelates will need to live on something.
I think we could use a few encyclicals, motu proprio, and what not to clean up the mess left by the Frankenchurch pontificate. (Assuming the next pope wishes to clean anything up).

Fr. Zuhlsdorf of wdtprs.com fame says that if, per impossibile, he were elected Pope, he wouldn’t appear in public for at least a year, except for the traditional papal chapels: Epiphany, Easter, Pentecost, and Corpus Christi. No interviews or press conferences. The Pope as conservator Traditionis isn’t meant to be constantly speaking off the cuff or composing 200-page encyclical “letters”–especially those that say little in as many words as possible and certainly impose no sanctions.
It’s true that the Popes of the 19th century and earlier were more accessible to the faithful, were seen in the streets of Rome, and so forth, but they were not broadcast to the entire world on a near-weekly basis, while delivering commentary (or “hot takes”) on recent events.
In short, we need a break from the “Vatican machine.”
I’ve been dreaming of quasi hermetical pope to pray for us. With God, all things are possible, though perhaps not likely.
BTW where is the justice (social or otherwise) in promising retirement money you have no ability or intention of providing???
