Have you ever seen the French film, My Father’s Glory, based on Marcel Pagnol’s memoirs? Pagnol’s father was a very “enlightened” secular schoolteacher at the beginning of the 20th century, so he was shocked when he was told that his brother-in-law not only “goes to Mass every Sunday”, but “receives the Sacrament twice a month”. He had no idea his brother-in-law was a religious “fanatic”!
