I totally understand the impulse of people like the original poster, but a cathartic arrest for its own sale is just that – a release, and doesn’t actually begin to solve any underlying problems.
Humiliate them with facts, perhaps. But focus energy elsewhere
Defund and disestablish the District of Columbia Federal Courts (District and Circuit), then start the prosecutions after a thorough investigation. Makes sense to me.
We need to get the facts on the table first so that the general public can see why they deserve to be arrested. Otherwise it just looks like more of the same stuff the Democrats did for four years. An arrest without conviction is useless. And even a conviction isn’t always a win. Exhibit A: “convicting” President Trump didn’t stop him.
As she said, 66 days.
It takes time to sort through the teams of documents, identify reliable witnesses and plan a strategy.
No need to go off half cocked.
I agree with Mike S’s comment above— it’s in the best interest of this nation to avoid even the appearance of mere banana republic-style political persecution of one’s opponents.
The left is going to claim that’s what any prosecutions are anyway, but it’s best not to give them any actual ammunition. No, any criminal charges absolutely must be based on meticulously constructed cases, and it’s absurd to wonder why that hasn’t happened after only two months.
With the amount of blatant fraud and fiscal mismanagement uncovered by DOGE in just the past two months, I expect that the ever-growing mountain of evidence of corruption will create a widespread public demand for heads to roll. We aren’t there—yet.
I’d like them to put together a case against the authors of certain abuses. Regrettably, a great deal of that is time-barred. The problem is that the Democratic Party now lacks a non-criminal aspect. It’s like the Teamsters, ca. 1971.
Don’t we need to include the bureaucracy in this discussion? Hasn’t an ICE leaker been identified and is supposed to be facing charges?
