The Once and Future President is Sworn in Again: Open Thread

Trump is sworn in as the 47th President of These United States.  (My son had it on his phone.  As he said, “I’ve waited four years for this and I wasn’t going to miss it!”)

The usual Open Thread rules apply:  be concise, be charitable and, above all, be amusing!

The Biden crime family drew a Presidential pardon mere minutes before Trump took the oath … What an obscene travesty of justice!
… And the media will portray this as an act of compassion to protect them from the evil orange man!

CAG, did we really expect any different? Corrupt people will be corrupt.

I was thrilled with Trump’s announcements about ending the multiple gender nonsense and restoring Mt McKinley. ..I suspect renaming the Gulf of Mexico probably will not fly though.
Incidentally, does anyone know how shoreline each nation has on the Gulf?

I’m guessing this means the J6 committee and its staff destroyed evidence.

Mark Shea’s family has to put up with him in meatspace.

Shea used to say worthwhile things with his Character Counts blurbs. Sad to see him having abandoned such sentiment.

Common sense is back in all things.
And yes, common sense is that if you broke the law in entering the country, you need to go back. And apply for entry like everyone else.

I’m really hoping that the bishops adopt some common sense. The country and catholics are not in the mood for anything else.

I just heard a liberal talking about norms. So, out of power again, I take it?

President Trump spoke of free speech, fair trials, and equal justice.

Worst. Hitler. Ever.

While some liberals are just misled or weigh things differently, others are in a different universe. I’ve just accepted that there is no talking with them about this stuff until the source of their programming is removed.

In particular, I have a liberal colleague who went on and on about how Trump considering pardons for any January 6th protestors would make him a dictator the likes of which the world had never seen. I guess because the presidential pardon power was someone in conflict with the very constitution that guarantees it.

If it was just that it would be ignorance or idiocy. But he managed to maintain that position even while Biden does nonsense like this. The real reasoning is “I have been told to hate the actions of my enemies, so they are bad, and love the actions of my allies, so they are good” with all the supposed reasoning being to make midwits not feel so bad about themselves for having to maintain such a ridiculous position.

What can you even say to people like that?

I am ecstatic. Now that the Democrats are removed from power in Government, may God remove Jorge Mario Bergoglio from the Papacy.

President Trump has pardoned approximately 1500 January 6th protesters. It’s outrageous that these people had been held without trial for almost four years, and most on mere misdemeanor charges.

I am hoping for the Mother of All Class Actions against the scum who conspired to put the almost entirely innocent J6 trespassers through four-plus years of Hell on Earth.
