But on a more serious note, I am glad to finally see some youth, relatively speaking. Without insulting anyone here, it is high time for the Boomer stranglehold on on our politics to end – and it is fitting that JD Vance was a Marine, to lead that charge.
There’s your future POTUS right there…if he plays his cards right, and does a good job as VP.
I wish Vance well. I wish Trump well. One’s too young and one’s too old.

I’d prefer our federal politicians were required to be between the ages of 39.0 and 72.0 on the date of the election, were elected for four year terms (Senators by state legislators), and were subject to a rotation-in-office rule (if you’ve held office for 14 of the last 16 years or will hit that wall during a prospective term, you are compelled to stand down). For a prospective president, a minimum of 60 on election day would be apposite. Ditto our state politicians, with a somewhat wider age range for aspirant state legislators in low census jurisdictions like Vermont.

We’d benefit from clearing the advanced geriatrics out of Congress, but we’d also benefit from practices at the federal and state level which would reduce the population of pure career politicians and low-rent lawyers in office. Trent Lott, Barney Frank, upChuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Glitch McConnell. All are malignant.
