First look.

I’m hopeful. The layout is interesting and I hope that some “none’s” are caught in the net. So many infact, that the nets are ready to burst.

Well, this is an open thread, so I guess most any PG rated topic is ok. I have a friend in the Romanian National Committee for Nuclear Activities Control (NCNAC), the equivalent to our US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In the aftermath of round one of the Presidential election in Romania, she became very distraught because Cailin Georgescu, a far right politician who favors Russia over Ukraine, was one of two people to go into runoff elections (which Romania’s high court cancelled because of election irregularities due to apparent Russian cyber influence). I really don’t know all the details, but having known her (at least via work and social media) over the past half decade or so, I have never seen her resort to quoting Sacred Scripture till now. She was really upset. Therefore, regardless of whatever you think about Romania, the US isn’t the only country beset by these kinds of problems, so remember Romania in your prayers because while the Romanian Presidency may be a ceremonial post, he appoints the Prime Minister which isn’t ceremonial. And oh yes, if Georgescu does get elected, then I think we can wager that my company’s project in Romania will die a quick death and be replaced by an offering from Rosatom. Putin doesn’t like competition.

BTW, South Korea recently underwent some unrest when its President declared martial law to “preserve Democracy.” The South Korean legislature overruled him, and the company in South Korea that is manufacturing my company’s reactor vessels contacted us to say that all is well.

My point is this: it’s all one world now. Everything is connected together. Isolationism isn’t going to work any longer. Even 80% of the chips in our reactor protection and other digital I&C systems originate in some fashion from the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, access to which, if Taiwan falls to communist China, will be lost forever. The US can no longer simply pull out.

I’m bracing myself for the USCCB and my own Bishop’s reaction to deportations.
Wish they’d have been vocal on fentanyl, criminality and child trafficking.

But what could they say, David WS?
“We’re disappointed that the children we’re illegally smuggling across the border for $millions are being trafficked”?

The USCCB is complicit in the sexual exploitation of migrant children. They profit greatly from it!

Heaven help us.
