Indeed. I describe the Mass to my students as the drama of our Salvation in Christ’s sacrifice being re-presented. Creation, Fall, Incarnation, Ministry, the Sacrifice, and the Great Commission are all brought to us each and every time we attend.

An unfortunate Covid-era addition to this list of articles is the Purellificator. I truly hate the prominence of this object in the Sanctuary … For a time, these even replaced the Holy Water font at the doors (when they finally unlocked them).

Many of our Bishops are faithless hirelings.

I am reading this. It is really good and helpful when trying to field my evangelist friends’ questions about Catholic mass. https://www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org/store/title/the-lamb-s-supper-the-mass-as-heaven-on-earth-book

Josh,
If you get a chance, you might find useful and interesting for your students St. Vincent Ferrer’s explanation of the Mass as the Life and Mission of Christ.

It’s not the usual somewhat dubious, somewhat forced parallels between the life of Christ and the actions of the Mass, but it’s a truly profound and well thought out understanding of how the Mass truly is done (as St. Vincent says) “in remembrance of Me” and not just “in remembrance of my Passion.”

Here’s a link if you’re interested (or haven’t already read it):
