The Church’s approved Eucharistic Miracles are extraordinary to say the least. God is so incredible that he leaves us these gifts to remind us that he is real and worthy to be adored with our whole heart, mind, body and soul. Now when I look at the Body Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus in these Eucharistic miracles, I see as well the blood of Mary mingled in with the divine and it creates for my soul more contemplation of the Salvation mystery. Our Sorrowful Mother gave her all when she said Fiat. Talk about the greatest leap of Faith ever taken in all of history..to say yes to being the Mother of God.
God chose the very best when He chose Mary.
The Diocese sent each parish a series of large posters, each describing a Eucharistic miracle. Most miracles occured in Europe but not all of them and a few occured in modern times. These posters are displayed on easels and are rotated during the church year. Very interesting reading indeed.
A few years ago at the mission an elderly woman dropped a host on the carpet. Father quickly retrieved it and cleaned the carpet. The host was put in a small bowl of holy water. Within a few days a red spot developed on the host. Could it be a Eucharist miracle? The host was examined at the diocese and deemed to have red mold. How disappointing.
Cam – that’s a good idea your Parish circulating posters about Eucharistic miracles. That should be adopted extensively as there are too many stories of priests and the lay not treating the Eucharist with the respect it deserves. The protocol around what should be done after a dropped Eucharist is left up to the priest and if you have a relaxed one, he doesn’t treat it as though it is Our Lord. I don’t know if he actually believes it’s Our Lord.
Ezabelle, one can see the posters at this address under the heading of Ministeries:
