Tied in the popular vote means an electoral landslide for Trump. Too many Democrat votes “wasted” in noncompetitive blue states. However, with the usual polling underestimation of Trump at the polls, I suspect Trump is actually ahead two to three points.

Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
It’s true that even though California, New York, and Illinois seem formidable because of the number of Electors they have and the fact that they are unfailingly “blue,” the bright side that people sometimes forget is that they are like electro-magnets (or drain traps, if you prefer) keeping all the “blue votes” in containment.
Tied in the polls mean Trump supporters EXPECT a landslide in the Electoral College. However, there is enough uncertainty that he might lose even without shenanigans. If that happens, I am afraid many of them will not be able to accept the outcome, and some of them will lose their minds. Something like January 6 might happen, but on a larger scale and at more locations, and make no mistake: the Harris administration would use this as an opportunity to crack down on any dissent.
Then again, if Trump wins, I would not be surprised if a Harris supporter made one last attempt to assassinate him before he takes office.
We live in dark times.
Hope none of you plan to travel from November until inauguration day.
Expect some shenanigans of unprecedented scale.
I do (optimistically) hope to be wrong 😏
My cousin’s husband just retired from his job as a supervisor of elections. His last day was in July. He was VERY happy to get out of that job!
I can’t feel optimistic because we were promised a ed wave in 2020.
Actually the red wave talk was in 2022. With Trump on the ballot in 2020 the Republicans gained 13 seats in the House.
Sorry, yes I meant 2020. And I couldn’t go back to correct the “ed wave” typo. But still my point is I am afraid to be optimistic.
2022!!! I really wish we could edit our comments.
