The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the failed, corrupt and venal shepherds of my Son’s church, the abominating priests, bishops, and cardinals.”
“Prophesy and say to them: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of my flock? You do not take care of my flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because you were not shepherds, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep have wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They have been scattered over the whole earth because of you failing as shepherds, and no one searched or looked for them.”
“‘Therefore, you shepherds, you priests, bishops, and cardinals, hear the word of the Lord: As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered because of your negligence, your crimes, your abominations, and because some of you have knowingly and purposefully led my sheep astray and they have become food for all the wild animals, because you, my shepherds, ordained to be present for them in the person of my beloved Son, you did not search for my flock ,but cared for yourselves and your pleasures, therefore hear the word of the Lord:
“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you shepherds, against you priests, against you bishops, and against you cardinals, and I hold you, all of you, each priest, each bishop and each cardinal accountable for my flock, for each of my sheep gone astray and not sought by you. I will remove you from tending my flock so that you can no longer feed yourselves. I will rescue my flock from you and your evil.”
“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. I will shepherd the flock with justice. Woe to you, ordained wolves, in league with devils and tools of evil. I will save my flock from you and they will no longer be plundered by you. Then you will know that I, the Lord their God, am with my sheep and that they are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
I have often wondered how those in authority, church, government, business, square some of their behavior with well known moral dictums, knowing the fate that awaits them for their perfidy.
