Copeland did capture “the American spirit” as the Faust quote notes. Fanfare for the Common Man is loved by brass players. For once the orchestral string players do nothing but sit and listen! lol – Appalachian Spring and Lincoln Portrait are inspiring pieces as well. Good turnpike driving music.

The bonus was compiled with care.
Good tribute to our fallen citizens and first responders.

I was always partial to Rodeo, especially the Billy the Kid ballet.

Copland was so influential to movie soundtracks, which are the under-the-radar vital musical genre of the past 50 years. You’ll sometimes see orchestras put on a Star Wars or Harry Potter concert for the kids, but I anticipate a lot more of it in both quantity and quality as the years go by.
