Revelation 13: I have often thought that we would create our own Beast from the Sea, our own Antichrist in our image using computer technology or maybe an unholy fusion of silicon AI and collections of human neurons (https://www.polytechnique-insights.com/en/columns/science/biocomputing-the-promise-of-biological-computingbrains/). The predicted Beast of the Land, the False Prophet, would be a prominent religious leader (like the Pope, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, or whoever) who would be the new Judas Iscariot, treasonously serving and promoting this Beast from the Sea.
Wait until PF learns that AI programming has rules, “rigid” rules.
Someone needs any type of intelligence, artificial or otherwise, but it isn’t us.
David WS brings up a valid point. Software quality assurance, configuration management, verification and validation, safety and security analysis, testing and code inspection, etc., are rigorous and rigid practices and protocols, whether the field be my own in nuclear digital instrumentation and controls software, or aerospace software, or pharmaceutical analytical and modelling software, or medical software, or locomotive engine control software, or (most especially) artificial intelligence software. The rigidity is far greater than anything that exists in Catholic traditionalism, and these esoteric software languages make learning Latin child’s simplicity by comparison. I know that to be true because I wrote the digital I&C and the non-I&C software engineering programs for my current employer, Neutrons’R Us, and those programs were reviewed and audited by the US NRC and found acceptable. Pope Francis has not a clue of what is involved to do this kind of work. Not a freaking clue in the world. He is bone-headedly ignorant, being a man of low intellect and mental capacity incapable of understanding anything other than global warming and social justice.
