Butchers.
There is something rotten in Denmark.
Strange. This the the country that saved almost all of their Jews during the German occupation during WW II.
Even Jim Jones used to speak out against euthanasia.
Different times and different Danes.
As an adoptive mom in the USA, I can tell you that good would-be parents were waiting in line, praying for such a treasure of an angelic baby.
Denmark has always portrayed itself as beacon of beauty, order and practicality. Danish design is unparalleled.
This mentality explains why the Danish medical profession has fine tuned prenatal screening and advising women that aborting a Down syndrome child is a social obligation. They see downs children as a social and economic burden on their perfect society. Denmark has been ruled by a democratic Socialist government for most part of the 20th Century. The left coalition still maintains a stronghold on Danish politics. This mentality of eradicating “less than perfect humans” (as they view downs children) stems from a socialist left mentality where anything seen as a burden on the collective whole, should be eradicated. It’s a toxic mentality. It is indeed Eugenics.
As a side, the elephant in the room regarding Denmark is its all not so perfect and ordered. Denmark has an underlying dysfunctional reality which starts at the top – the Danish Monarchy.
The Queen recently stepped down after ruling for nearly half a century in order to hand the throne to her son Frederick. Fred was being unfaithful to his wife Mary- openly and blatantly. So in order to save the marriage (and the Monarchy) she pulled the abdication card and forced her son to step up (and her daughter-in-law with no choice but to be Queen). Mind you, they have 4 children together.
There is something “not so perfect” about Denmark if you scratch the surface.

I can’t see how my soon to be 18 year old son is such a burden to society. Down syndrome is not a curse. I can come up with a several groups that are far more harmful to society. Monarchs would be right up at the top of the list.
Iceland for years has had a repugnant policy of externinating Downes Syndrome babies en utero. The country is totally white. The Icelandics DNA is a combo of Viking and their Celtic slaves. Recent years Poles and Lithua nians have immigrated to Iceland
Dave – it’s discrimination at the highest order and how they get away with it when everything else is embraced (including disordered identities) is pretty mind-blowing.
It’s their loss that they are engineering their society to exclude the beauty which Downs children bring. God Bless your beautiful son.
(Yes! Monarchs are actually a burden to the tax paying citizens.)
