Thought For The Day

It makes him stand out as a priest.  Emergency situations can arise quickly when a priest is needed and seconds count. I recall an elderly priest who stopped by a large fire as a young priest.  He was recognized by a fire captain and told that he was needed inside to give the Last Rites, and into the burning inferno he ran.  He denied acting bravely that day.  He was a priest and such potential self sacrifice goes with being a priest.

You won’t find rainbow Stoles in the closet of priests who wear cassocks.

Our good pastor wears his cassock everywhere,
Including on the ice rink behind the church.

John Scott, retired from Professional Hockey, is a parishioner, and it’s great fun seeing them play hockey with the altar servers.

God bless our Holy priests.
