What an inspiring performance! Can anyone imagine such a performance in this country by youth of similar age but whose ethnicity is Hispanic or African-American? Culture indeed matters.

Better than some high school orchestras I’ve heard. They look too much like my most recent students. I started crying when the little girl walked out with the cello.

Is that in South Korea? We have several Korean families in our parish and a couple of the kids are brilliant musicians. Furthermore, they are an inspiration with their faith & reverence and an example to many of our Kiwi families, especially the young adults.

Glorious! That was flawless.

@Don- I think it’s in Taiwan. Asian students have a reputation for excelling in classical music.

As a side, my eldest daughter (16 yo) has chosen Extension Music (she plays the Piano) for her High School Certificate (final 2 years of studies at school). Recently on a family road trip, she played her Spotify playlist and was quite proud it included Classical music. It got us through the last 2 hour leg around midnight. I think all children should play an instrument
