  10.  Don will be so wrong in some of his predictions.

There are misses and then there are my predictions for this year:

Pope Francis will resign this year.  (A repeat from last year.)

Nope, a clean miss, more’s the pity.

 Inflation will worsen.

Nope, the rate got better.

Major Vatican scandals throughout the year.

Always a safe prediction these days.

Russia will withdraw from Ukraine but will keep Crimea.  Putin will retire and go into exile.

A clean miss.

China will face major domestic upheavals.

Some unrest and they have huge economic problems, but I can’t call this prediction correct.

Manchin of West Virginia will switch to the Republican party and declare that he is a Trump Republican.  Sinema will caucus with the Republican party to switch control of the Senate.

Nope on both counts.  But Manchin’s decision not to run in West Virginia ensures the GOP no worse than a 50-50 Senate, and if Manchin does run for President that is bad news for Biden.

An assassination of a Supreme Court Justice.

No, thank God.

Elon Musk will name Blake Masters as CEO of Twitter.

Nope, and that is too bad.

A major Church figure will proclaim that we are in the End Times.

A lot of hinting at it, but no outright declaration.

Don will be so wrong in some of his predictions.

Always and ever the safest of predictions.

Win some, lose some. Actually your inflation prediction was quite correct. Inflation continues to increase though KJP denies it. Also the housing component outweighs all the others in its amount and effect. The fact that it increases at a slower rate simply means that the former pain is even more acute now. As election season gets closer, look for more product from the stable floor to be served.

Change # 7 with # 1 and the world will be a better place. I hope Conclave 2024 gets it right this time or they can kiss their jobs goodbye. Happy new year all

Dave rx- the conclave can kiss their jobs goodbye?
How do you fire a conclave and are we willing to go down the laity-hiring-clergy rabbit hole in which many Protestants live?

I made the decision long ago to stick with the barque of Peter, regardless of whether the captain was in his right mind and regardless of how many of the crew were actually corsairs. My King assures me that this dubious vessel will indubitably arrive at the heavenly destination. I choose to believe His words. Even if I arrive in a squalid brig after incurring the Captain’s petty wrath.

I thought you were way too optimistic last year. Eagerly awaiting this year’s prognostications.
