There's a Korean action comedy-drama called "The Fiery Priest". It's about a Catholic priest with an uncontrollable temper who fights against criminals.
It is the highest-rated miniseries drama that aired on public Korean television in 2019. (PG13) pic.twitter.com/1c9NYcRvtb— EXΛNXC (@exanxc) September 4, 2023
Eleven percent of South Koreans are Catholics and polls have indicated that Catholicism is the most respected religion in South Korea. After World War II a lot of veterans entered the priesthood and I recall a few of my acquaintance who looked as if would have had no problem using their fists to defend their flocks. I miss those priests. Go here to read about a tough priest who made a real difference.

This was a great show!! There’s nothing quite like it in American TV. The redemption arc that the priest goes through is fascinating as he learns to control his temper. I also really appreciated how the Catholic faith was respectfully portrayed.
I had originally found it on the Korean app Kokowa for free, but now people have to pay for it.
Suzanne, thanks for the review. I think my family would enjoy The Fiery Priest. We enjoyed the 5 seasons of Kim’s Convenience.
