If these ones open their mouths, they are probably lying. I had to laugh when I read this.
When will we stop being surprised when people with no respect for the truth lie? Be as wise as serpents, because we live among them.
Between this and the testimony about the FBI spying on Trad Catholics I am reminded of a line from the series, My name is Earl a few years back, when Joy, Earl’s x says “ it ain’t the lying that hurts people Earl, it’s the finding out” , seems to be the FBI’s policy too,
Solzhenitsyn: “… and they continue to lie.”
Wray had a discretionary position in George W. Bush’s DoJ and was recommended by Chris Christie, in case you want to know what the Republican establishment is worth.
The FBI was created to stop rum runners and bank robbers. These violations are now handled well at the state and local level. Clearly, the FBI has too much time on its hands. Time to break it up and assign any remaining tasks to other agencies.
I think the amount of text and the number of crimes defined in the federal penal code needs to cut way back and the sentencing recalibrated so that it represents the median of the state penal codes as far as severity. Specialized bureaux distributed over five departments, placement of prosecutors and investigators in separate departments, an end to prosecutors directing investigations, &c. As for the FBI’s salaried line employees in the Washington HQ, fire them all and debar them from federal employment. Do the same to their management-level employees located elsewhere.
Trump’s worst appointment, and given some of his doozies, that’s saying a lot. The GOP better figure out if it wants to win or seethe next year, because if it doesn’t get the opportunity to clean up this corrupt horror show starting in 2025, it will never get the chance again.
The Feds love bringing indictments that stack dozens of charges. The 38 count indictment against Trump is typical. They are hoping that juries will get weary and nail the defendant on something as a compromise. Unless a defendant is very wealthy, mounting a good defense to one of these multi-count monstrosities is almost impossible, and for Defendants in the Orwellian named Federal criminal justice system it is most definitely a rigged game.
Facing those odds, almost all Defendants plead out. Two percent of cases go to trial and the prosecutors win around 96% of the time. If that has a banana republic ring to it, it is earned.
The GOP better figure out if it wants to win or seethe next year, because if it doesn’t get the opportunity to clean up this corrupt horror show starting in 2025, it will never get the chance again.
Countries with long histories have unpredictable cycles of corruption and reform. There is no ‘never’.

Indeed. The variables are length of time and collateral damage.
Statutes of limitation indicate otherwise. Part of effective reform is making an example out of malefactors. Not to mention, as Elon Musk demonstrated, getting ownership of the evidence. The admin already ran out the clock on some of Hunter’s (and his dad’s) malfeasance, and another four years will do it for most of the rest. Despite indisputable evidence of criminality, Jim Clapper is a free man and Andrew McCabe had his full pension restored, both due to their pals in Justice. Until you get an administration really determined to go to war with corruption, the slide will continue.
By 2029, Wray and company will be scot-free.
A public tar and feathering, an early American tradition, is long past due.
So lying under oath about spying on free citizens causes him to get the most severe of penalties, which is?
DL, Parkinson’s Law – “Work expands to fill the time available”.
The FBI is not and never has been in the business of protecting the American people.
