A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Enough said.

Maybe the most absurd aspect of this sad farce is China Joe claiming he had nothing to do with the whole thing. This is in fact impossible for anyone who remains sentient, despite advancing dementia. But his handlers insist he is just fine. So which is it, Mr. Obama? Is your puppet still able to comprehend anything around him, or is he truly a walking zombie? You can’t have it both ways.

In 2016 Scott Adams made the case that Hillary Clinton should not be prosecuted, even if she was obviously guilty, because to take action against a political opponent would be too damaging to public’s faith in democracy. (To his credit, he is also completely against these recent actions against President Trump.)

I think the causal relationship in that reasoning was backwards. That is, Adams worried that if we allowed the government to take action against political opponents, then the people would see the government as nothing more than political actors and lose faith in it. What actually has happened is that the public slowly accepted and celebrated that the government was nothing bunch of political actors, which emboldened them to make this sort of move.

The “But Her E-mails” meme encapsulates the attitude nicely. There’s no way that makes sense as a retort outside of saying that their allies in the government didn’t go after Hillary, since she was on the right side. That is, who is guilty or not doesn’t matter, what matters is who gets prosecuted, and that is determined by allegiance to the right dogmas. But you can’t point this out and shame people over it, since they are glad that the government acts like this and are proud to support it.
