I intend to go forward in life blissfully ignoring these types of sequels.

I will probably see it so you don’t have too. I liked the original trilogy, three the most and two the least. Four actually had its points. Having an 80 year old Harrison Ford trying to be an action hero, even with CGI, is doubtless an Indy too far. The reviews thus far have been scathing. Will the film merely be bad or so bad it becomes a cult favorite, like Dune (1984)? (I do think there are bleakly comedic possibilities in the film.) I will pronounce my verdict after the film is released in the US on June 30.
Indy 4 might have worked if Spielberg wasn’t so scared of making the Communists appear evil. They could only be adversaries, not enemies, due entirely to misguided American global ambitions, not the intrinsic evil of Marxism.
Some people just don’t know when to take their winnings and exit the casino.
I can understand wanting to work at any age, but- not this at 80.
