Speaking as a veteran husband of forty-one years, talking about the appearance of your wife to third parties is almost always a bad idea. A rookie mistake. It is especially insane in this case, since the mother of three looks quite fetching. An unforced error in husbandry! Hopefully she has a good sense of humor, a quality that has saved countless husbands from a marital tiff.

I don’t see where Askren implies his wife isn’t attractive. He just says being a good mother is more important.
At least he didn’t do this.

The MSN should have added “I was lucky enough to find a woman who’s both.”
Though I doubt they got three kids by the husband finding her unattractive.
*the man.
I’m not married. Is this a one bunch of roses mistake or a two bunches of roses mistake?
3 at least.
Dead Man Walking.
Maybe Askren can claim head trauma from the flying knee he took courtesy of Jorge Masvidal.

Hey, he doesn’t disagree that his wife is attractive, and what woman wouldn’t want that?

The first duty of a spouse is to be a helpmate to one’s spouse to get them to heaven.
Karl Habsburg, the last emporer of Austria and Zita of Bourbon-Parma vowed on their wedding day to help each other to heaven. This firm acknowledgement of their rational, immortal souls filled them with the strength to face whatever their destiny might provide including exile to the Island of Majorca off the coast of Spain and death at 34 years of age for Karl, now called Blessed Karl of Austria. Karl and Zita had eight children. Their children and grandchildren said that Zita was the most wonderful mother and grandmother for she cared for the children lovingly. Zita was in her 90s when she joined Karl in heaven.
Vowing to help each other to heaven is challenging to every spouse yet, it is the easiest and best way. I know of no other. With God’s help we will all fulfill our destiny and join the blessed in heaven. Thanks be to God.
