The measure of a good pope is the mark he makes against evil and the growth of the number of conversions in the Church, not how “open” (whatever that means) he has altered it.
I have to wonder whether Spadaro has ever said anything I agree with.
His “moral” positions:
Ceding his authority to appoint bishops to the CCP;
Ignoring the CCP’s attacks on authentic Christians and the corruption of Christianity to make it an engine of the State;
Ignoring the slaughter of West African and Central African Christians;
Ignoring the slaughter of Syrian and Iraqi Christians and the elimination of those ancient churches;
Facilitating the continuation of despotic regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela;
Remaining silent in the face of rampant human trafficking, including sex and child trafficking;
Ignoring the diversion of church funds to bishops and other ranking priests in Europe’s lavish lifestyles;
All while expressing a strong distaste for faithful Catholics in America and an outright hatred of Traditionalist Catholics.
Yeah… “moral.”
It’s probably true that he’s the most prominent global moral figure. Greta Thunberg, Bill Gates, President Zelenskyy, and Elon Musk likely round out the top five.
To me, interpreting Spadaro’s remark requires defining the term “moral.” Since this is the same fellow who notoriously opined that two plus two can equal five, my guess would be that his definition of “moral” doesn’t in any way resemble ours. Just saying.
