Bingo… and also the Don of a lavender mafia.
A lot of things like these make me wonder when they start planning the succession. Prevost being promoted to all the various positions in the Curia in hindsight looks very much like it was planned out for continuity’s sake with Francis.
So the question then becomes, who are they grooming (probably a bad word choice where the Lavender Mafia is concerned) to be next in line to continue the wreckage.
It took them over a year to find and seat a tribunal of FIVE, in a city full of canon lawyers?!!?, Two of whom are woman, I suppose to lend credence to the pre-determined not-guilty verdict. Now the “trial” drags on without any transparency whatsoever. Maybe they’ll pull a McCarrick and drag it out until he’s too old to serve a sentence.
Justice on earth for the victims?

Do those people notice that the Vatican is uninterested in Rupnik, but compels every youth volunteer to undergo “safe environment.”

My current diocese just switched to VIRTUS training. I did it in the Archdiocese of Washington in the past. I do absolutely *love* how we are all treated like potential criminals.
It’s a syndicate. A thug gangster syndicate. This is really a farce of a legal procedure. If Rupnik walks he’ll get what he deserves.
Supposedly the Pope is protecting the Seal of Confession. If not for Rupnik’s crimes but for the public scandal he has given Rupnik needs the millstone about the neck into the depths of the sea.
