George C. Scott Explains Calvinism

Strong language advisory as to the above video.  I have explained Catholicism by saying that if Christ said it we believe it.  Almost all Catholic doctrines are derived from something Christ taught, from the Real Presence, the Trinity, priests forgiving sins, the Petrine Supremacy, Hell, the End Times, Angels, Demons,  you name it.  Bible believing Christianity might as well have made in Rome stamped on it.  When Catholics swerve from this heresy and schism result.

God created all mankind. Jesus redeemed all mankind. “Our Father” loves all mankind.
Poor Clavin wrote of hell.

Mary, my apologies in advance, but your inadvertent typo (Clavin / Calvin) prompted me to laugh, as I recalled the character Cliff Clavin from the TV show Cheers. The more I think about it, the more similarities I see between him and John Calvin. 🤣
By the way, I am permitted thus to lampoon Calvinists, because most of my ancestors back to the 17th Century were of that persuasion, and I was baptized as an infant in a very traditional Presbyterian church, which was “planted”, as the Protestants like to say, by my paternal great-grandfather. If and when I see them all in Heaven, I shall beg their forgiveness for my uncharitable humor. 😇

I must share this on the Facebook and Twitter feeds of John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church and the late great RC Sproul’s Ligonier Ministries. Often I like their preaching (some of it). But getting block on Facebook and Twitter simultaneously is going to highlight my evening. 😀

Frank: Thank you for catching my blunder. I am glad that you got some fun of it. One side of my brain says Calvin. The other side of my brain says Clavin.

And while the movie that the clip comes from is pretty disturbing, it’s timeliness today is even more so.
