RAVASI
Reverend Ambrose Ravasi, a Consolata Missionary, Superior General of the Consolatas in America welcomed me as though he had waited his whole life to say “Hello”. Father Ravasi truly was a father to me.
Father Ravasi was sent to Marsabit, Kenya where he started a seminary and built a church to Mary.
Reverend Renato Saudelli, another of the Consolatas in Somerset, New Jersey went to Ethiopia where he built a 150 mile road into the jungle and a hospital there for cripple children. He said that whatever he needed for the children he would find stacked outside the building every day. We will find quite a few bandits in heaven.
Bishop Ravasi may be seen on youtube, his 92nd birthday and his funeral Mass of 2020 in the language of his adopted country. He chose to be laid to rest in Kenya. The Mass is beautiful.
The seminary sends many priests to America.
Father Ravasi was young and vibrant when I met him. He retained his magnificent sense of humor and his love for his people until the day he passed into eternal life. And they, like myself loved him back.
He said that he had to wait 13 years before entering the seminary because he had no money.
Father John De Marchi, a Consolata, was chaplain to the three children of Fatima. He wrote a book about them. My lady friend typed the manuscript up.
God blessed us with the Consolata missionaries.
