PopeWatch: FBI

News that PopeWatch missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

U.S. — The Catholic church is currently being infiltrated by a number of undercover FBI agents who are partaking in the sacraments, earning indulgences, and even becoming priests. According to Bishop Robert Barron, who personally caught and interrogated one of the agents in a Vatican blacksite, the bureau appears to be looking into a mysterious plot inside the church to worship something other than the state.

“Who sent you? Why are you spying on us?” yelled the Bishop. “Why on earth would you spy on innocent parishioners?!”

The captured FBI agent then laughed wickedly and bit down on a false tooth and ingested a cyanide tablet hidden within.

Attorney General Merrick Garland responded to the startling revelations that agents are investigating the church by saying, “What? No! We’d never do something like that! I don’t even know what you’re talking about! But if there are people refusing to worship government mark my words: we will find them and make them pay.”

My good lady said the communist strategy in the 20’s and 30’s was to infiltrate the Church, have young party members become priests. True? very possibly. I wonder how many were converted to true faith.

Dr. K, your lady is right. Bella Dodd testified before Congress many years ago about the organized effort to infiltrate the priesthood to attempt to destroy the Church from within. Fascinating story.

I’m recalling an exchange between Alice v. Hildebrand and Sandra Miesel about how credible Bella Dodd was. Seems to me Sandra Miesel got the better of the argument.

How soon we forget. Governor Northam during COVID plague asked Virginia citizens to spy on their fellows and had agents attending churches to gather intelligence on the number of attendees (at one point only 11 allowed) and if the worshippers were social distancing properly (6ft circle). Never saw any spies at our mission but two churches on the Neck had a man taking notes and another photographing the service. By the way those churches had the Latin Mass) The two VA bishops were silent. I take that to mean complicent.
A lot of blessed salt continues to be used on property boundaries. Also since most of us are on well water, some are thinking ahead by installing hand pumps in case the grid goes down. This Candlemass we needed two tables for the candles blessing. Our priest gifted at Christmas to the ministry heads large blessed votive candles in case of 3 days of darkness
