Something for the weekend. Bird Brain by Henry Mancini from the movie Soldier in the Rain (1963), a forgotten gem of a movie pairing Steve McQueen and Jackie Gleason as two soldiers, opposites, who form a friendship. It doesn’t sound like much, but it works.
I missed this one. I was in the military at the time and it did not play in the base theaters. Wonder why?
Surprises me. As the retreat scene demonstrates it is very pro-Army.
