Reminds me of when my wife, I and a few others received a standing ovation for promoting NFP at a diocesan marriage conference. The overwhelming majority of couples there were using either contraceptives or abortifacients.
I felt like yelling out “We aren’t “special”, we’re just Catholic.”
Pleasantly surprised. After the way the Iowa bishops unanimously and immediately rolled over for every jot and tittle of the Covid lockdowns and other madness, I didn’t think any of them would show this kind of support for natural law and Church teaching.
‘Sex reassignment’ procedures have been around for 70 years. IMO, it was never ethical for physicians and surgeons to involve themselves in it. Paul McHugh has the receipts. The thing is, for six decades, it was confined to a tiny population of screwballs like Richard Raskind and Donald McCloskey, so it wasn’t much of a threat. Now, the threat is mortal.

For the world “Christian” means immediately conceding to every demand of the zeitgeist, to avoid being “mean.”
