Waiting for something like this to eventually happen- non-binary Romeo and Juliet. They bugger everything up!
My daughter trains and dances ballet. She is still young now however most of the professional traditional performances of pas de deux (male and female duet roles) are male and female. Holding my breath for the day that the pas de deux becomes female and female or male and male. Holding my breath.
The theatre company in question was founded by an American expat from Illinois in 2003 and he still runs it. Among its financiers are Arts Council England (a public agency), the office of the Mayor of London, the EU’s ‘European Regional Development Fund’, the Borough of Southwark government, a Scottish government agency called ‘Alba Chruthachail’. A commercial company has also donated some of their shareholder’s assets.
They have individual donors which they list and what they can wangle from ticket slaves. Why do I get the feeling that about 80% of the revenue this company receives consists of Other People’s Money?

This happened in THE SOUND OF MUSIC when Liesl von Trapp fell in love with Rolf Gruber a Nazi Youth. Rolf chose to be a Nazi over Liesl. Well, almost.
Actually, this might be even more 2022 (it certainly isn’t 1776):

🥴🤢🤮🥴🤢🤮🥴🤢🤮
It is stomach churning Quotermeister. What they fail to understand is female performers possess female qualities when performing (and not just the physical qualities) and male performers possess male qualities. And there lies a dynamic between the two. So when you have a cast that is neither, it’s all of the same nothingness. In all honesty, putting the perverted part of it aside, this wouldn’t be commercially appealing to attract an audience. I’m sure it’s gimicky and appealing today because non-binary is the latest “fad” but people get tired of fads. It’s so self-indulgent. Performers do their craft to please an audience. Well good, long-standing performers do, anyway.
