Entrusting Children to These People is Child Abuse

Go here to read the thread.

When Clinton introduced “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” to the military the tale went round of a veteran soldier who said he was getting out before the Army made homosexuality mandatory.  What began as a cry for tolerance is now the “right” to indoctrinate kids in sexual perversions.

Chris Rufo was recently on VivaBarnes’ sidebar discussing this stuff.

Mr. Rufo suggests that we abolish the teacher’s unions. That’s only a partial solution. What we really need to do, as others here have, IIRC, previously advocated, is to abolish forced funding of public schools through tax collections. As far as the unions are concerned, having spent a good portion of my legal career inside the belly of the labor law beast, I’d go so far as to suggest repeal of the National Labor Relations Act, root and branch. That will never happen, of course, because what’s left of Organized Labor, which today is mostly made up of teachers and other government employees, dutifully and unanimously pours mountains of money into the DNC’s pockets every year. They get a pretty good return on their investment.

My suspicion is that the teachers’ colleges, the accrediting agencies, and state and federal departments of education are more potent sources of evil than the teachers’ unions, though the unions do their part. The state legislatures could accomplish much, but do little. Eliminating the federal department of education is something the Republicans in Congress could work on, but since there isn’t any candy in it for donors, Bit*h McConnell isn’t interested. George W. Bush had his own menu of federal interventions, which were a waste of time, as usual.

I agree with Art D here: unions are certainly bad, but the teacher colleges are really, really awful.
.
I also agree that tax payer funding must be stripped from education. Having said that, it still leaves the teacher college problem, as many private schools require their employees to have gone through “teacher college” and be “accredited” teachers or have some kind of license, etc.

That, kids, is why we homeschool.

As waitlists grow at parochial and other private schools, and homeschooling increases in popularity, the problem may solve itself to an extent. Also, I’d love to see some pasty 20-something man-bun snowflake try to teach that to a bunch of 13-year-olds in the San Antonio barrio.

I don’t think you need to end public funding for education. There are all kinds of governance issues to be addressed.

Art D, I was actually referring to Frank’s previous comment, which talked “of abolish forced funding of public schools through tax collections.”

Third party payer systems ( which is what it is) are very problematic

PJ O’Rourke in his book Eat the Rich points out there are only four ways to spend money. I paraphrase here:

1) Spend your own money on yourself: You get the best bang for your buck.
.
2) Spend your own money on someone else: Well, you might (or might not) try for the best bang, but you don’t really know what the other person truly wants, do you?
.
3) You can spend someone else’s money on yourself: Oh, that’s appealing, isn’t it??
.
4) You can spend someone else’s money on someone else. That might be appealing. Or might not be of interest.
.
I homeschooled, and rarely if ever did I pay attention to he school board meetings-local or state. Now, we’ve got CRT, SEL, and quite probably porn in the schools, for which I am paying (even if only pennies worth.) This is incredibly damaging, and yes, my children will be dealing with the fall out from that in some way or another.

How do I email or message Donald with a tweet I want to see featured? It’s obvious he uses Twitter, but I can’t find an account, nor does he have an email address that’s listed on this site.

Sending your children to public school is handing them over to child abusers.

There are advantages and disadvantages to any system. If you want to play Ayn Rand, you be you.
