Something for the weekend. That’s Amore (1953).  A major hit when it was released, it became the signature song of Dean Martin.

Listening to music this past week, I realized that the number of new love songs.. men and women… boys and girls.. has plummeted to near zero. It’s as if musicians are now in fear of the male and female dance; the oldest manner of song is practically extinct in new writings. It’s become the love one dares not speak of-

Dean Martin, born Dino Crocetti, of nearby Steubenville, Ohio.
There is a wonderful YouTube video of Dean Martin on the Perry Como Show in which they reminisce about their hometowns ..Canonsburg, PA, Como’s hometown is only 33 miles from Steubenville…and there was some good natured teasing.
I’ll try to post a link later today.
One of my favorite songs done by Dean Martin, as well as Michael Buble, the Pussycat Dolls and others, is Sway.
Perry Como’s aunt was a neighbor of my grandparents.
