This disappoints me. We are called to more than hale fellow well met… we are to choose and procrastination of choice, of being able to recognize false leaders, false teachers and refuse to go along even though with a benign humor, so broadminded as to own no boundaries…
Revelation 3:16

I should have said “ this is a procrastination of choice”

Francis is more than just a jesuit.

Anzlyne beat me: in a word, “disappointing.” He doesn’t want to face the elephant Francis in the living room. He wants to put a lace doily on it.

“He [Francis] cares about ‘the poor..’” Yes, a lot of Jesuits move their lips around those words. But they know they’re the richest, most powerful order, and they’re never really affected by human tragedy or struggle or real economics like the rest of us. And they feel very guilty about it.

Not even to get into P. Francis’ treatment of the Catholic Church in China, or his constant aggression against traditional Catholic (and most people haven’t noticed that Chinese Catholics are very traditional)…

Now what was it again that Jesus said about the pharisees?

Agree with the others here, very disappointed in Professor Kreeft’s dodging the real and serious damage this Jesuit Modernist/Peronist/ hater of tradition is doing to the Church. Millions of souls are at serious risk of perdition because of his words and actions. To be sure, Francis is only the result, not the cause, of the decades of rot in the catechetical foundations of the Church, but he is by far the most dangerous of all the Modernist clerics who have infested the hierarchy since the 19th Century, and have multiplied like a virus throughout the earthly Church structure. I suppose Prof. Kreeft, too, fears being canceled if he speaks the unvarnished truth, because I am certain he knows what the truth is, given his intellectual gifts.

If Kreeft thinks that Francis is just a Pope who has his good points and his bad, than sadly he’s not been paying attention to the evil being done.

It’s probably an overwrought analogy, but I’m reminded of the case of a certain German leader of whom it was said “at least he made the trains run on time”.

Frankie is a bad pope. Global communication makes it worse. Having had recent great popes makes it worse. Attacks on the family -worse. Homosexual clerics -worse. The only good thing about Pope Frankie is the Church will survive him.

While “the Holy Spirit doesn’t make mistakes” conclaves obviously do. I appreciate Peter K’s hopeful outlook but am disappointed. The correct statement is “The Holy Spirit is not Never Surprised”.

Typo above, should read:
“The Holy Spirit is Never Surprised.”

(Off my phone and back to working in the garden on this beautiful cloudy day.. Pope Frankie is a bad movie.)

Clinton: That was Mussolini in Italy. German trains generally ran on time until the Allies started bombing them.

Donald: I appreciate the correction. At least for now, we haven’t run athwart Godwin’s Law!

Well, Kreeft’s statement fits my preconceptions, so huzzah!

If Kreeft was serious about what he said about Pope Francis, he is a joke, just not a funny one. Therefore, I don’t see the humor in this at all. But oookkkaaay.

This is a Saturday humor post and everyone is taking it a good deal more seriously than I intended when I posted it.

“Don’t forget, Judas was a Bishop … The first Bishop to accept a government grant.”
~Dr. Peter Kreeft

If the man never said another thing at all, for this statement alone he has earned my respect.
