“Gat marriage” most certainly did force people to mouth the lie and it emboldened the Left.
The lie of “gay marriage” did not come from no where, it came from the lie of contraception, as did abortion.
A people using contraception, devoid of the procreative power and meaning of sex, find it impossible to disapprove of other “sex” devoid of procreation.
(I do think though there’s hope. Most people still believe in marriage as marriage; they think of “gay” marriage as different.)

I think most people are easily manipulated and happily accept the “new” truth and often become vocal “True Believers”. We’ve all seen it over and over, especially if an “expert” or governmental authority says something it must be true.

If I may extend the analysis one step further, I believe that the cave-in of the US bishops on the issue of contraception, i.e., the near-complete silence of the “conference” on the issue after Humanae Vitae, was a calculated move to help pave the way for the Lavender mob to go exactly where we are today, with more to come, based on the principle cited above by David WS. It’s all very logical, and undeniably diabolical in origin.

The “gay marriage” thing nationalized the behavior they’d been doing in Seattle and Portland– where violent assaults could be committed against the opposition, and not only would people do nothing, they’d brag about it on TV.
The protest against redefining marriage in the Tacoma area was beaten bloody with their own signs, on video.
The assailants were not arrested.

Church goers down my way will donante big bucks to the building fund, to parish needs but not to anything that leaves the parish. The bishop recently sent in early June a mariling that consisted of a letter, co – signed by our priest (reluctently, my guess) and a glossy brochure w/ self envelope for a monthly pledge to the Bishops Lenten Appeal. This appeal used to come near the start of Lent, then in January before Lent, Now it’s June for the Lent of the next year. That tells me most of us don’t like the Doocese’s over spending and choice of programs and are suspicious of “the monies donated won’t leave the diocese”. The bishop recently sent out a letter saying that he agreed with Archbishop Correleone in refusing to give Communion to pro-abortion politicians like Pelosi. Better late than never.
Re Bingo, Since we have a beautiful new church there has been some discussion to start Bingo in the winter now now that the altar has been rremoved from the old church that originally was built as a hall.
