Don’t be dumb, Donald. Putin’s war in Ukraine was an act of aggression, but there’s no doubt that NATO goaded Russia into invading Ukraine by seeking to offer it membership. Acknowledging this doesn’t make you pro-Russia. It makes you immune to militaristic propaganda. (By the way, you should really stop promoting Robert Kagan’s wife’s think tank.)
Don’t be a complete blithering idiot Robert. NATO was an excuse and not the reason for Putin’s aggression. This is merely the latest of this efforts to recreate the old Soviet Union through military intervention in the successor states of the old Soviet Union. Fear of what he will do is driving NATO expansion and which is why Sweden and Finland, long neutrals, are seeking admission. Without Putin’s wars of aggression NATO would be a relic of the Cold War on its way to disbandment. It is Putin who has breathed new life and meaning into that alliance.
