Hmm respectful. No mention of the Kings and Queens, Heads of the Church of England, who waged a bloody holy war against Roman Catholics. Priests, consecrated religious and average folks who only wanted to worship God in the one true faith as their ancestors had, were murdered in the most barbaric ways. Because of greed the rulers and upper classes stole properties; razed churches and monasteries. The latter housed much of the history and knowledge from centuries past. To this day much of the populace harbors an underlying bigotry against Roman Catholics and their religion. It often surfaces in matters of pro-life. My father’s family were English imigrants going back to 1620. Though I Ioved my well educated, church going Protestant grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, most were suspicious of Catholics in general. I have to smile because there are many converted Catholics in my generation and cradle Catholics in the next two generations.
My reply to tools like this Joseph Ford Cotto is simple. If the Catholic Church is so bad, why does she live rent-free in your head? Why can’t you just shut up and leave us Catholics alone? I suspect he and others of his ilk wouldn’t like the answer to those questions.
