The 18 year old murderer shot his grandmother before he embarked on his rampage. She survived. She should be able to tell us more about what sparked this massacre. I would wager the murderer had mental health issues for some time and was known to the authorities. We shall see. In the meantime the grief of the parents is unimaginable. To have their angels taken from them so soon in this Vale of Tears and so senselessly is enough to make the real angels weep. May God grant their kids the Beatific Vision and may He grant them hope and peace.

There is talk that the shooter was transgendered. The Twitter page with a photo allegedly showing the shooter in female dress is deleted. Who knows, but if true this story will disappear.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Our news articles say he carefully planned it and boasted about his guns on social media. I too saw the picture where he looked effeminate and diabolical.
Mental Health issues are real. However, I don’t think he had mental health issues. I think he knew exactly what he was doing. Not everyone who commits evil has mental health issues. Some people are just intent on doing something rotten. I will however agree that he probably had a shady background.
Praying for all the deceased. Terribly sad to see very young children among them.
From Chris Plante on WMAL radio this a.m.: the shooter cut his face. Cutting is indicative of mental illness.
There should be an autopsy to check for chemicals. A witness said he had a vehicle accident by the school. Exitted and started shooting.
We know Ramos moved from his mother’s house. Had an argument with his grandmother and shot her.. She survived. Plante said there was no father or nor man in the house. A very bad family situation..
Ramos used eyeliner; wore unusual clothes and in school was taunted for his effeminate look. Maybe he watched Johnny Depp movies or rock star videos. Definitely a look-at-me look.
We had a security brief Saturday in our new church by a retired FBI who’s a friend of the priest. Topic was protestors, peaceful or otherwise. Although we are rural there is a chance Catholic churches in our diocese will be targeted when the Supreme Court Roe vs Wade decision will be announced. The other subject was lone shooters. Ramos certainly fits the profile. Regarding gun laws in VA the agent after the opening prayer asked, “How many of you have concealed carry permits?” Probably a dozen raised their hands. “How many of you have have concealed carry insurance?” Only one person raised a hand. It was a 70 year old military widow. Before COVID she had attended the diocese seminar on security up in Arington.
Our society is mentally and morally ill, and getting worse.

Dale Price: Our society is made up of too many who are either influenced by demons or are possessed by demons. What they have done in the last half century could not possibly be simply mental illness and immoral behavior because human beings as created in the image and likeness of God could not work to destroy completely the human species as we see is clearly happening and certainly no faithful Catholic in the past could ever work to do the same as so many who claim to be Catholic are also doing.
As happens all too frequently in all too similar cases, I am left with the question, “Where’s Dad?”
