Paladin, Richard Boone, defends a man from a kangaroo court even though the man is obviously a cold blooded murderer who happens to be innocent of the particular murder he is on trial for. Back when entertainment on TV could be literate and moral.

In reference to the Paladin song the line:

Richard Boone, middle aged, and not matinee idol handsome was unusual casting for the lead of a Western. He fit the part perfectly though. It would be great if Hollywood would produce the genre again. IF the series weren’t woke, which they probably would be. Last good Western series we watched was Longmire with Aussie Robert Taylor in the lead. There seemed to be more stories left for the characters. Fans would be happy to see more seasons, but maybe the actors have good gigs elsewhere.
