“Some men think the Earth is round, others think it flat; it is a matter capable of question. But if it is flat, will the King’s command make it round? And if it is round, will the King’s command flatten it? No, I will not sign.”

Truth is never an option but always a duty.
The Truth is true and relativism should be one of the 7 deadly sins.
Delusion is, unfortunately, alive and well today. Spending money we don’t have leads to prosperity, abortion is health care, the aggressor is best stopped by not offending him, etc. All leads to a very disorderly world for which a price will most certainly be exacted.
From this morning’s Entrance Antiphon, “From the deceitful and cunning rescue me, for you, O God, are my strength.”
Some of them are even so stupid as to say it. They call it ‘ethical lying.’
Some speaker at Catholic U. bloviated about ‘crucify whiteness,’ and ‘ethically lie.’
Next time Pastor sends out an envelope for Catholic U., it will be used in the toilet.
Truth requires courage. A quality that is unfortunately in short supply.
@Dr. Kurland: “ The Truth is true and relativism should be one of the 7 deadly sins.”
Amen. Arguably, it already is, as a manifestation of the first deadly sin, pride. Pride generates claims not only to the God-given freedom to follow one’s conscience, but also the anthropocentric right to establish the norms by which the conscience is formed. Usually this is couched in flowery language purporting to show fidelity to the teachings of the Church.
And so it goes. God bless all here.
