Mask Nazi

Strong language advisory.  The overreaction to the Black Sniffles was largely for political purposes last year to get Orange Man Bad.  It has now become a cause unto itself among the loosely wired who live to boss other people around.  Give people a societal license to do so, and a portion of any population will dedicate themselves to making life a living hell for anyone who draws their ire.

Would you like some more peanuts with that slap in the face?

Unreal.
Was she the stewardess?
Peace on Earth…..not at 35,000 feet above the ground. WoW. It wasn’t United Airlines. They always fly the friendly skies. Lufthansa Air is my guess.

Given that we have an entire federal agency devoted to ‘transportation security’, we certainly do not need the FBI involved in this chickensh*t.

Why are these articles in a Catholic site? Would Jesus not understand that some people are scared and troubled and just pray for her rather than ridicule?

“Scared” and “troubled’ aren’t the words which come to mind while observing her.

While we’re at it, the term ‘ridicule’ does not mean what you fancy it means.

Would Jesus think that a physical attack on an old man is somehow acceptable because someone is “scared” by him not wearing a mask?

“Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.”

30 years to slow the spread….
So much fear, so many closet totalitarians, it’s senseless.
If you see someone act like that, pray for them and yell at them to sit down.

As much as I believe the masking mania is unjust, even I would have trouble trying to equate resisting it with following Christ in terms of doing good.

“Mask Nazi” or “Mask Pharisee” ?
Pharisee: a self-righteous person; a hypocrite
(Note: Throughout the incident, the attacker does not have her mask in place.)

Don’t get me wrong. I do not condone that womens behavior. I have just been searching for some compassion in our world. We don’t know what drove her to act like that. She may just have had a loved one die or have their life changed by Covid driving her “crazy” over reaction.

No, but someone whose disposition is to be cruel to the kind and kind to the cruel might think that.

I have lost several loved ones to the actions driven by other people’s fear of COVID. It is quite likely that I will lose a few more to cancer, one of whom was scheduled for a screening the first week that non-emergency medical work was canceled.

It is not loving to excuse violent hysteria on the basis that someone may have been under stress– especially when it’s well known that humans experience higher stress when they are deprived of seeing other human faces.

“Am I my brother’s keeper?”
Genesis 4:9

A rather ironic choice of quote, given that he was being asked if he knew where the brother he had murdered was.

Nothing drove her to act like that way. She’s just never learned to self-regulate properly. You’re not doing her or anyone else any favors with contrived ‘compassion’. She needs to be told to stop assaulting the other passengers or the flight will be diverted to an interim location and she will be turned over to TSA officers.

Happy to know that you can always self regulate perfectly. I for one am not perfect and therefore it is not my place to judge others. I will leave that up to those whose job it is to do and to God.

One needn’t be perfect to avoid attacking strangers on airlines for no good reasons.

It becomes clear, JJ, part of why you are struggling with your faith; any religion that tells you that false witness is a sin, and that has also warned against calling good evil, and evil good, is going to get in the way of excusing violent assault against the nearest vulnerable target by one you are sympathetic with.
Especially when the rule against judging appears to be oddly limited to others recognizing evil and objecting to it, rather than you judging the behavior of others.

“I will leave that up to those whose job it is to do”. You should be pleased then. The police and perhaps the FBI, then the courts and finally the federal prison system will take care of her and her inability to “self regulate” herself.

Punching people over masks.

My 14 year old and her classmates get threatened at school with detention by certain teachers for not pulling their masks up properly. They. Have. To. Wear. Them. All. Day. So, my daughter, who only earned herself one detention her whole school life so far, in grade 4 for talking in class, said to me if she got a detention over a mask she would HAPPILY sit that detention! HAPPILY she proclaimed.

Punching people over masks….These employees of a grocery store assaulted a customer for being told off for wearing their masks under their noses. There is probably more to the story than this customers side, but the level of crazy over MASKS is quite ludicrous…ludicrous.

Masks nor the Covid shots (they are not vaccines) do not stop the spread of Covid—we now have plenty of evidence to that effect. Refusing to continue to participate in the lie that masks do provide protection against Covid & it’s spread is very Christian.

Alcohol is the culprit here is my guess. Most of the airlines now do not sell alcohol in tourist class. However there are plenty of bars, eateries in the airport terminals, where people soak it up or passengers thinking ahead have mini “mouth wash” bottles in their carry on.
Bringing the FBI is a bit of overkill. Whatever happened to air marshals? Not enough to go around to all long flights?
Regarding masks the CEO of an airline was on the news saying that the air filtration now on airline planes is very sophisticated and safe and he saw no reason to mandate masks. Another CEO agreed. He sort of walked it back the next day because of pressure from the Feds I’m supposing. Those large light machines that they use to clean the planes are pretty impressive.

CAM: “Whatever happened to air marshals? Not enough to go around to all long flights?”
There was a piece in USA Today several years ago about “myths” concerning the Air Marshal Service, in which a purported expert (see how little trust we have any more?) estimated there were, at that time, about 3,500 air marshals employed by the Federal government. This to cover in excess of 30,000 commercial flights per day. The article also, if I recall correctly, reported that a significant number of the marshals are assigned to flights into and out of D.C., leaving even fewer for other flight destinations. So there aren’t really enough to go around at all. As I understand it, their primary job is to prevent hijackings, in any case, not to get involved in subduing unruly passengers.

It turns out there was a little bit more to the story before she went after him about the mask. According to court records, she was trying to make her way back to her seat but was blocked by the flight attendants serving with the beverage cart. So the flight attendants asked her if she would take an empty seat until they could finish and get past her. According to the report she said, “What am I, Rosa Parks?” The elderly man who was sitting nearby took offense to her comment and said to her that she “isn’t black….this isn’t Alabama and this isn’t a bus.” It was after that that she went off on him about his mask…

“John had said that Christ was the axe; later he would receive it on his own neck as he dared to denounce the adultery of Herod for living with his brother’s wife.

John was still the strong, uncompromising militant of the coming Kingdom. A man like Herod who was a builder and a sensualist could forget, but his second wife, Herodias, could not.

Herodias is a sample of those who seek revenge after a moral reproof. The weapon to which the morally condemned reach is often violence. Nothing so much excites violence in a person or in a city as a bad conscience or a group of bad consciences.”
