Resign!

From the Open Letter:

A fundamental principle in the military is holding those in charge responsible and accountable for their actions or inaction. There must be accountability at all levels for this tragic and avoidable debacle. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

As the principal military advisors to the Commander In Chief (CINC)/President, the SECDEF and CJCS were the two top military officials in a position to recommend against the dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms.

If they did everything within their authority to stop the hasty withdrawal and the President did not accept their recommendations, then knowing the disastrous consequences looming, the retired flag officer signers believe these top military advisors should have resigned as a matter of conscience and public statement.

A fundamental principle in the military is holding those in charge responsible and accountable for their actions or inactions. There must be accountability at all levels for this tragic and avoidable debacle.

Go here to read the rest.  An enlisted man who falls asleep on guard duty is in a world of hurt.  A general or admiral who help lose a war get another participation trophy medal, and “funny” stories to tell during their lucrative post military lobbyist gigs.  Honor to our current crop of flag officers leading our woke military is for the enlisted ranks only.

I don’t know which is worse – the incompetence or the hypocrisy.

That chart is old. Last night the Taliban took possession of the airport and in a large hanger there were four very large helicopters. You would think that after all of the bad press for the past 10 days some effort would have been made to destroy them but they looked just fine. I suspect the counts on that chart is low and is actually much worse.

It’s been remarked that the military brass walked right up to the line of being directly insubordinate to Trump on several occasions. Then they implement this cockamamie withdrawal plan without complaint. (I’m going to wager this disaster was cooked up by Blinken and Sullivan, who got Klain and Dr. Jill to put the dement’s signature on it).

We’re at the point that a patriot sitting in the President’s chair is going to have to cashier a three-digit bloc from among the services’ 530 flag-rank officers and send finished bills to Congress dissolving the FBI and CIA. Of course, then you run into dullards like Bitc* McConnell, who has accomplished nothing of note in his 14 years as Senate Republican reader.

Regarding those pathetic WWII nostalgia uniforms. Those pencil-necked imbeciles and a$$hole$ are not worthy to carry a WWII private’s duffel bag.

Emotions aside, military dogs are valuable. $20,000 to $40,000 spent on their training, depending on their specialty. Didn’t see any in use in the Kabul Airport, videos but certainly bomb and drug sniffers and sentry trained dogs would have been helpful. I’m surprised the dogs didn’t leave the countrywith their handlers.
There was a post (dated ?) that claimed 51 war dogs were safe and being cared for in an undisclosed location.
“High-tech Hounds – Ground troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan often carry sophisticated technology. Modern war dogs enjoy nothing less. They receive a range of specialized equipment, including vests that can both protect the animals from bullet and knife wounds and carry additional equipment, such as GPS devices and infrared night-sight cameras. Many dogs also wear “Doggles,” special canine goggles that protect their eyes from blowing sand.”

In ancient Rome, disgraced generals fell on their swords. We are not asking that ours eat their guns, only resign and accept their cushy follow on employment in the arms business.
